Army saved people trapped in floods in Beed, Maharashtra with the help of helicopter
On Monday, 3 national highways were closed due to rain and thunderstorms in some parts of Himachal Pradesh. Along with this, movement on 493 roads came to a standstill. Since the onset of monsoon, a total of 409 people have died in rain -related incidents and road accidents across the state.
Here, heavy rains affected many areas of Maharashtra. Mumbai received 134 mm of rain on Monday, which caused water to the railway track, sub-way and roads. In Beed district, 11 villagers needed to airlify by IAF helicopter and the army pulled out 40 others.
Schools remained closed in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Telangana due to rain and flood warnings. Many houses were damaged due to land collapse in Kalaban village of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. After continuous rains, 400 people have been shifted to temporary shelters.
