The statue of former Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh will be unveiled on October 13 on the historic ridge of Shimla. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be the chief guest in this program and will unveil the statue. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi also participated on this occasion.

According to the information, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will leave from Delhi for Chandigarh by air after some time. It is not clear yet whether they will come from Chandigarh to Shimla by air or road. It is considered certain that both the leaders will come to Shimla to participate in this important program.

The ceremony will start at 10 am on Monday at the Ridge Ground in Shimla. Raja Virbhadra Singh Foundation has issued invitation cards for the program. According to the invitation letter, Sonia Gandhi will be the chief guest and she will unveil the statue. Apart from this, along with Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, State Congress in-charge Rajni Patil and State Congress President Pratibha Singh will also be present on the stage. Senior Congress leaders, government representatives, workers and common citizens will also be present in large numbers.
Late Virbhadra Singh passed away on 8 July 2021. Since his death, there was a demand to install his statue on the ridge of Shimla. After about 4 years his statue has been installed on the ridge. Earlier the unveiling of this statue was proposed on June 23, on his birth anniversary. But at that time, the program was postponed due to Sonia Gandhi’s sudden illness and the Gandhi family not attending the program.
