The state government has created new corporations (Hamirpur, Una and Baddi) and 3 city councils this year. In such a situation, after the passage of the Amendment Bill in the Legislative Assembly, elections will be postponed in December this year.
At the same time, the State Election Commission had also prepared to hold elections in the new municipal body. For this, instructions were given to install reservation roster and maping of voters. But now elections will be held two years after the formation of the newly formed body.
BJP MLAs including Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, BJP MLAs Rakesh Jamwal and Satpal Singh Sati criticized the move in the House. He described it as illegal and expressed the possibility of challenging in court.

On the issue of salary and pension of HRTC, Agnihotri admitted that there was some delay, but insisted that the Congress government is committed to ensure regular payment.
HRTC pension case is being raised from Finance Department
Mukesh said, the matter of delay in pension is being raised before the Finance Department and efforts are being made to resolve it soon. I want to inform the House that the pension of all HRTC employees has been released on 29 August today.
Agnihotri clarified that although both issues are serious, they should not be connected to each other. He assured the opposition that the government is constantly working with the Finance Department to improve the payment system and improve its track record of timely payment.
