The CBI has made the first arrest in the case of suspected death of Vimal Negi, Chief Engineer, Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation. On Sunday, the CBI detained suspended ASI Pankaj from his village Bilaspur.

He is accused that after the body of Vimal Negi was recovered, he took out a pen -pavement and molested him. A video in this regard also went viral, which the CBI was investigating.
CBI will appear in court on Monday The CBI’s 10 -member team from Delhi completed the arrest process. Accused Pankaj will be produced in a CBI court in Shimla on Monday. It is believed that more arrests may occur in this case soon.
Wife accused of murder Vimal Negi’s wife Kiran Negi has described her husband’s death as a murder. He had made serious allegations on the officials of the Energy Corporation such as abetment and murder for suicide. He said that “It is good that the CBI arrested Pankaj, but these are pieces, real culprits should also be arrested.”
Whose behest was tampered with, CBI investigation continues The CBI is now investigating the investigation of the evidence at whose behest Pankaj tampered with. It is worth noting that Pankaj was not even a part of the SIT which was formed to investigate the case.

- April 21: The family reached the High Court demanding a CBI inquiry.
- May 23: The High Court ordered to hand over the investigation to the CBI.
Now what next? The CBI will interrogate Pankaj and try to find out who were behind the tampering of the evidence. The agency believes that more people may be involved in this case, who may be arrested soon.
