Muslim side’s advocate Naeem Khan presents his views.
The controversy over raising slogans of ‘I Love Mohammed’ and ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in Jalandhar has now been resolved. Naeem Khan said-
About 70% of those protesting will be those who never even go to the temple. Still, if the police wants, they can arrest us. This is all BJP’s game.
Let us tell you that after the I Love Mohammed poster controversy of UP in Jalandhar on October 1, the Muslim organization was going to submit a memorandum in the CP office. During this, a dispute broke out over raising slogans of Allah-hu-Akbar and Jai Shri Ram. After its video surfaced, BJP leaders including Hindu organizations staged a dharna first at DC office and later at BMC Chowk.
After the protest, the police registered a case against 4 people of the Muslim organization. The names of Ayub Khan and Naeem Khan are also included in these. DCP Dogra informed about this. However, Muslim leaders claimed that no case had been registered against them. Even if it happens, he is not going to be afraid. He has announced to gather crowd on 8th October.

- This incident was implanted by BJP: Advocate Naeem Khan had said- Explanation is being sought from us on the incident. What will we explain? Explanation will be given by those people who are spoiling the environment of Jalandhar. We have given the video of the incident. He comes to know that a man comes and raises slogans. Someone played only a part of this video. BJP has got this plant done.
- No one has the right to say wrong about Shri Ram: Advocate Naeem Khan said- No person living in India can say wrong about Maryada Purushottam Lord Ramchandra. We have no objection to Jai Shri Ram. Anyone can say Jai Shri Ram, wherever. But this has been done deliberately. Whatever happened, it made the Muslim brotherhood a villain. It was said that we beat up the Hindu brother. Whereas, nothing like this happened. This is the dirty politics of BJP, because their politics runs on this.
- There should be atmosphere regarding Bihar elections: Advocate said- BJP is creating such an atmosphere because assembly elections are about to come in Bihar and after that elections are to be held in Punjab. Before this, BJP is getting all this done to get votes. However, this will do nothing. BJP wants to establish its foothold in Punjab through this incident, because they have nothing left. These people know how to get votes by taking the name of Lord Shri Ram.
- Raise this slogan in any Muslim house, there is no opposition: Naeem Khan said- Jalandhar is a peaceful district. These things don’t work here. Here, go to any Muslim’s house and say Jai Shri Ram, no one will object. Whatever happened yesterday, happened in front of the police. Do they also know what the real story is? We also met the Police Commissioner yesterday. Told the whole matter. Despite this, an FIR was lodged against us.
- Police came to arrest us, we have not run away: Advocate said- If the police comes to arrest me or Ayub Khan, then do it. We haven’t run away. We are right here. It is not that if someone puts pressure we will file an FIR. The police also know that this whole political game is going on. He said- We will lodge a complaint with the police and demand that the person who raised the slogan of Jai Shri Ram be investigated. His mobile should also be checked to see which people he was in touch with. These people have tried to fight two religions. It is our loss in this. Lakhs of Hindus are associated with me.
- We will demand CBI inquiry: Advocate Naeem Khan said- Police was on the spot when all this happened. If the police does not listen to us then we will demand a CBI investigation. In this case milk should be milk and water should be water. If the police does not do anything then we will also take action. We are not afraid. It is a different matter that we do not want to hold any protest because we are thinking positive. If they do not want to keep the atmosphere peaceful then we will also be forced to take some action.
Leader of Hindu organization said- Will these people decide to go to our temple? Here, Prashant Gambhir of Hindu organization Gambhir Seva Manch raised questions on the statement of Advocate Naeem Khan. He said- I want to tell these people that they are saying in the press conference that many of the people who are protesting by Hindu organizations do not go to the temple. I want to ask them whether you guys will decide whether we go to the temple or not? Will meat traders tell us whether we go to the temple or not? I felt very saddened by his words. If they hold one protest on 8th October then I will hold 10 protests.
