Many districts of Maharashtra including Mumbai have been receiving heavy rains for three consecutive days. On Tuesday, there were flood -like conditions in many areas of Mumbai. Rail, bus, air services have been badly affected due to rain. Central Railway official said that more than 36 trains have been affected. 14 long distance trains are canceled. The time of 16 trains has been changed. More than 250 flights are delayed. Local train service is also affected.

Monorail service was also affected. A monorail was stuck on the elevated track at 6 pm near Mysore Colony railway station. About 500 passengers inside were removed with the help of a crane by breaking the window. MMRDA reported that this happened due to increasing crowds.

Possibility of rain in 23 states including Maharashtra

The Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued a rains red alert in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. Apart from these, there may be light to moderate rains in 18 states including Orange Alert in Telangana, Bihar and 18 states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal, Uttarakhand.

Apart from Mumbai City, a red alert has been issued in suburb, Thane, Chandrapur, Raigad and Ratnagiri. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Maharashtra for the next few days.
