AMCA is planned to be deployed in the Indian Air Force and Navy. However, it will be available only by 2035.
Amidst Tariff War’s tussle, India’s aircraft manufacturer Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and American company General Electric (GE) have several defense deals in the final stage.
According to HAL sources, the biggest deal is going to be of Jet GE 414 engine. This engine will be installed in India’s 5th generation indigenous fighter aircraft MCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft).
GE has accepted the condition of HAL of 80% technical transfer of this engine. It is to be decided in the deal whether GE will consent to transfer technology with the rest of this engine to transfer itself or will support HAL in negotiation.
After this agreement, GE-414 engine will be produced in India. The HAL 10 GE-414 engine has been purchased so that the growth of Mca does not stop.
