There is a different competition than father. Arshdeep told that after a good match, father Darshan Singh does not speak. But, he plays corporate matches on Saturday and Sunday. He used to play cricket in his youth, then when he got a job he had to leave it. Now interest has come again. He bowls outswing and is a right arm bowler. After the match he sends his figures – “My four overs, 19 runs, two wickets – do better than me”. There is pressure from their side.

I used to hold the lunch box and my mother would drop it on the Activa.
She used to bring him from the academy in the evening. Then I grew up. We built a house. The academy was 15 kilometers away. Traveling by bus was hectic. Many times there was a fear of falling. It became more difficult in winter. The family members got a bicycle. Papa used to say, “Your Thai will be done”.
I used to cycle 28–30 kilometers a day, practicing separately. We used to compete with cars every day. I used to think in my mind that I have to reach before them, otherwise I will not get the wicket. However, everything got mixed up in the interview. Told in the interview that mom was coming to drop me on a bicycle. I thought the hard work was too much. I told my mother, “It is not so much my fitness as yours.” Mummy says, “Everyone’s house is going well, let it go”.

Father recognized skill, mother used strength Arshdeep Singh’s family is from Kharar, Punjab. His father Darshan Singh works in a private company, when Arshdeep was born, his posting was in Madhya Pradesh. He is also a bowler. His father recognized his passion for cricket. In such a situation, Arshdeep Singh’s mother used to bring him on bicycle in the morning. Then she used to stay there. After school, she used to make them sit in the park and feed them food etc. After this she was again sent to the academy. After this she would take me home in the evening. He had to struggle a lot in the initial days.
The family had made preparations to send him to Canada Arshdeep Singh was not being selected in the Punjab team. Family members were also worried. In such a situation, the parents decided to send him to his brother in Canada. He talked to his coach about this. When the coach discussed this with Arshdeep, he said that he wants to play.
On the advice of the coach, Arshdeep told this to his family. The family members gave him one year’s time. After this Arshdeep worked hard on the ground. Then he was selected in the age group 19 team of Punjab. After this he played the Under-19 World Cup. After this the journey continued continuously.
Variation became the king of recognition Even when Arshdeep Singh was playing World Cup U-19, his problems were not less. Because there were three bowlers in front of him in terms of speed.
