Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that this campus of Southampton University is an important step in India’s higher education to commemorate 5 years of National Education Policy 2020. It is the first foreign university in the country. India-UK Roadmap is also an important milestone towards strengthening education in 2030. This state -of -the -art campus has been established within one year of getting permission.

Indian University is moving fast
Dharmendra Pradhan said that due to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is a historic change in India’s higher education system. The presence of Indian universities has increased in the world’s prestigious Quacharylly Symonds (QS) rankings.
He said that in the year 2014, the QS rankings consisted of only 11 Indian universities, while currently this number has increased to 54. This change reflects the quality, innovation and increasing confidence of the Indian education system.

You will get the opportunity for world class education
The Union Education Minister said that with the aim of promoting healthy competition in the field of education and providing world -class education opportunities to the youth, the Central Government has allowed 17 prestigious universities of global level to set up their full campus in India. The academic session has started in 3 of these universities.
The Education Minister clarified that these international level universities coming to the country will be opened in the major metro cities of the country including NCR (National Capital Region) to provide high quality education to more and more youth of the country. He said that Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini deserves congratulations who are providing better environment with friendly behavior.

Students will be able to go to foreign campus for one year
The new Gurugram campus will provide a globally recognized undergraduate and postgraduate program to suit Britain’s educational standards. Students can spend up to a year of time in university campuses in Britain or Malaysia.

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini said that along with the foresight of the country’s national education policy, the establishment of Southampton University Campus in Gurugram as an international university on the principle of One Earth-One Family Future is a strong medium to take up the standards of higher education in India to new heights. The Chief Minister said that today Haryana is becoming the first choice of foreign investors with the availability of best infrastructure.
He expressed happiness that the University of Southampton, one of the top 100 universities in the world, is making its presence in Gurugram, Haryana today. It is a symbol of increasing cooperation in the field of education between India and England.

He said that today is going to add golden chapter to the education scenario. Because it is not only the inauguration of the new campus of a university, but it is an important step towards realizing the future of India, the dreams of our youth and the resolution of ‘developed India 2047’. The Chief Minister said that under the new education policy of the country, for the first time an international university has been recognized by the UGC to set up a full campus in India. Haryana is becoming a global hub of education
Naib Singh Saini said that this campus of the University of Southampton will prove to be a milestone in making Haryana a global hub of education. He told that our goal is to make Haryana a skill hub, where our youth are not only employment, but will become employment.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kept a vision to implement the National Education Policy-2020 in the country by the year 2040. To realize his vision, it is necessary to have sufficient number of world class educational institutions. In such a situation, we are proud that many such institutions have opened in Haryana.
There are a total of 57 state and private universities in the state. Of these, 14 universities have been opened in the last 10 and a half years. Today, a target has also been set to open a college in a radius of every 20 km in Haryana. There are currently 185 state colleges in the state. Of these, 80 colleges have been opened in the last 10 and a half years. The Chief Minister said that entrepreneurship is being promoted in the state. Therefore, students are being motivated for start-ups in the state.
