BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leader K.K. Kavita held a press conference on Wednesday, during which she announced the resignation from the party.
BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi) leader K.K. Kavita resigned as party and MLC on Wednesday. A day earlier, he was suspended from BRS on charges of indiscipline and anti-party work.
Kavita warned her brother and party leader Katie Ram Rao (KTR) at the press conference not to trust cousins Harish Rao and Santosh Rao. They said,
Because of these two, CBI K.K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) is investigating. Such leaders are breaking the family for personal benefit.
In fact, Kavita accused the party’s colleagues of harming the image of KCR at the press conference on 1 September. After this, on 2 September, KCR suspended him from the party.
Kavita has been a Lok Sabha MP from Nizamabad from 2014 to 2019. There were reports of controversy between his brother Katie Rama Rao and cousin T Harish Rao about the party leadership for a long time.

Kavita said that KCR and KTR are my families. This relationship is of blood, it should neither be removed from the party nor will it be broken by losing the post. But some people want to break our family for their personal and political ambitions.
Kavita alleged that these leaders also put pressure on father KCR to suspend him. They said,
I appeal to my father to understand the real intentions of the surrounding leaders. He broke the BRS family and did all this for his selfishness.
Kavita alleged- CM Reddy’s conspiracy to break the family
Kavita also made serious allegations against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that Reddy conspired to break the family by meeting some BRS leaders. Kavita said that Reddy and Harish Rao prepared the scheme together during an aircraft trip. According to him,
Revanth Reddy filed a case against all BRS leaders, but spared Harish Rao. When the Kaleshwaram project started, Harish Rao was the irrigation minister at that time, but Reddy did not say anything against him.
Kavita even alleged that Harish Rao carried out such a campaign during the election, which would lose her father KCR and brother KTR.
Kavita held a press conference on 1 September in Hyderabad.

BRS tussle is going on after 2023 defeat
- The party’s supremo Chandrashekhar Rao is 73 years old. Between increasing age and the possibility of gradually removing from active politics, questions are being raised in the party as to who will be the next leader. Chandrashekhar Rao has made son KTR an executive president, but Kavita also considers herself an effective leader. One reason for the dispute is also being considered.
- BRS is engaged in funding and strengthening cadre after being out of power in 2023. In such a situation, there are differences in KCR’s family on the decision, ticket distribution and who will play in the strategy.
- Kavita is accused in Delhi’s liquor scam. They are under investigation. This has affected the party’s image. KTR and his supporters do not want it to have a further impact on the party.
