In Thane, Maharashtra, a woman has been accused of collecting crores of rupees by implicating in a honeytrap. He has made several policemen, officers of the Department of Excise (liquor) and other government employees their victims.

According to the report of India Today, two big police officers (ACPs) of Thane have filed a complaint against the woman. He said that the woman had threatened to accuse him of false rape and asked for Rs 40-40 lakh from him.

When the investigation of the case started, it was found that it is not just a case of two officers, many more government officials have been targeted and this woman was earlier caught in a case of extortion in 2016.

Investigation revealed that the accused woman used to call herself a needy woman policeman or home guard. Then she used to target big government employees including many IPS officers, excise officials on the same pretext. Officials say that many more cases are currently under investigation and maybe more victims will come forward.

This woman used to work very cleverly to trap people. She used to describe herself as a troubled pre-policeman or widow and asked people for help. Then she used to talk on WhatsApp, make video calls and meet in front so that people could win.

During these meetings, she quietly recorded objectionable pictures and videos. Sometimes she used mobile screen recording or small cameras. Later, she used these recording to threaten the authorities to collect money, so that she would not be slander or there is no legal action on them.

Officers used to keep silent for fear of going to slander

Later, when she got a huge amount, she would either take the allegations back or compromise. Many times poor officers were silent in the society due to infamy and fear of going to the job. In one case, he called an IPS officer to a hotel room on the pretext of help.

There he allegedly took off clothes and quietly recorded. Later, this recording recovered the money from the officer. In another case, the wife of a big officer had to pay the woman to pay the woman so that her husband does not have a rape case.

Fraud network spread in many cities of Maharashtra

Government papers show that this woman’s network extends to big cities like Mumbai, Thane, Pune and Nashik. Those who have made him victims include three DCPs of Maharashtra Police, several Excise Officers, Senior Inspector and Assistant Commissioner.

In 2016, this woman was also caught in an attempt to extort Crime Branch officer in Thane. But even after being released from jail, he continued his wrongdoing by making new identity and false claims. The woman’s bail application was rejected by the lower court, but she has got relief from the Bombay High Court for some time.
