West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has accused the Assam government of threatening the Bangla -speaking people living in the state.
He said that people in Assam who want to live peacefully with all languages and religions, the government of Himanta Biswa Sarma is threatening them. Mamta said on Saturday-
Bangla language is the second most spoken language in the country, and it is also used in Assam. But those who want to respect their language and culture are being intimidated. It is unconstitutional and discriminatory.
In response to this, Chief Minister Sarma said that in Assam, we are fighting with infiltration not from our people, but across the border. This is bringing a big change in the population of Assam. In many districts, Hindus are now on the verge of becoming a minority.
CM Sarma said- We are trying to save our culture and identity
CM Sarma said that the Supreme Court has also considered infiltration as an external attack. We are trying to save our culture and identity, but Mamta is making it politics. He said that Assam, Bangla, Bodo, Hindi are all languages and communities in Assam. But if a state does not save its limits and culture, then it will not be able to stand.
July 16: Mamta marched on discrimination against Bengalis
Several big leaders of the party including Abhishek Banerjee attended the foot march of CM Mamta Banerjee.
On July 16, Mamta Banerjee took out a protest march against the alleged harassment of Bengali speaking people in BJP ruled states. Mamta said that I am embarrassed and disappointed with the BJP’s attitude towards Bengalis. From now on, I have decided that I will speak more in Bangla. If you want to keep me in the detention camp then keep it.
The rally was taken out from Kolkata College Square to Dorina Crossing in Dharmatla. Many big leaders of the party including Abhishek Banerjee attended this rally. Apart from Kolkata, the party also protested on the same issue in all the district headquarters of the state. This is happening at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to visit the state.
The rally was taken out from the college square in Kolkata to Dorina Crossing in Dharmatla.
Mamta had said- NCR’s backdoor entry against Bangladeshis
The rally of Mamta is being linked to the incidents of detaining some illegal Bangladeshis in Odisha, launching a campaign against Bangladesh in Delhi and giving notice of Foreign Tribunal (Foreers Tribunal) to a Bengali farmer in Assam.
The assembly elections in West Bengal are a year later. Experts say that TMC wants to raise the issue of language dispute, Bengali identity in Bengal. A few days ago, Mamta accused the Election Commission of acting like a puppet of BJP. He also feared that the amendment in the voter list is not trying to implement the NRC (National Register of Citizens) from the back door.
