34 died in Vaishno Devi Landslide accident, more than 20 injured are undergoing treatment.

Rakesh Wazir, president of Katra Hotels and Restaurants Association, said that there are 300 hotel-gold houses, which have 6 thousand rooms. About 200 rooms have been opened by devotees. The Baridar Seva Samiti used to manage the temple before Shri Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. Former chairman of the committee, Sher Singh Baridram, said that 30 thousand devotees always lived in Katra, but there is silence for 7 days. The Shrine Board said that repair is going on on the 18 km long journey route. The journey will begin only after completion.
The devotees who had a ropeway, hotel booking between the building or Bhairon Valley, are refunding them. On August 26, 34 people lost their lives in a landslide near Ardhkunwari temple.
