Let me tell you that since the kidney failure after fever in Parasia block of Chhindwara, 9 children have lost their lives since September 7. According to family members, children first had fever and cold, then infection in kidney. The condition worsened even after being admitted to private hospitals. Treatment was done in Nagpur, but the lives of children were not saved.
Production of Nexa Syrup stopped
Subsequently, the Madhya Pradesh government wrote a letter to the Himachal Government and Drug Controller asking to examine the Coldrif and Nexa DS Syrup. Koldrif is not being made in Himachal. Nexa DS is definitely being produced. Nex makes DS Aquinova Forma in the state. The drug department has stopped its production as a precautionary measure. However, it has not yet been cleared as to which company’s syrup has killed the children.
Investigation begins with CDSCO: Drug Controller
Himachal’s drug controller Manish Kapoor said that the department has started investigation after receiving a letter from the Madhya Pradesh government. He told that the companies which have been supplied to Madhya Pradesh from Nimachal have been identified. The state’s drug department has started risk base inspection with CDSCO (Central Drug Standard Organization). He said that the production of Nexa DS Syrup has also been stopped.
Poisonous chemical
Investigation by the Madhya Pradesh government so far has revealed that the syrup of cough that was given on the children falling ill, the chemical ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol used in the vehicle industry was found in it.
It is a poisonous chemical, used in vehicles coolant and anti -freeze process. Experts say that even a small amount of it causes bad damage to the kidney and the brain.
MP Government wrote a letter to stop production
In view of the seriousness of the case, the health department of MP has written a letter to the governments of Tamil Nadu and Himachal Pradesh to stop the production of both these cuff syrup, where these medicines are made. Currently, 13 samples of these drugs have been sent for examination.
According to experts, suicide cases have also come up by consuming ethylene glycol present in the vehicle’s coolant. Due to its sweet taste, people can also drink it by mistake, which is fatal.
Damage due to failure of samples of medicines repeatedly
Samples have been failing even before medicines made in different areas of Himachal. This has led to the infamy of Himachal, which is developing from Forma Hub across the country. It also directly questions the functioning of the Drug Controller Department. However, in Chhindwara, children died of medicine, it is yet to be cleared.
