On Saturday, a 15 -year -old minor girl was set on fire by three people by putting petrol in Puri, Odisha. The girl has been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar in critical condition. His condition is quite critical
The incident took place in Baibar village in Puri district when the victim girl was going to her friend’s house. Three attackers stopped him on the way and put petrol and set him on fire. The scene of the incident took place one and a half kilometers from Balanga police station. The three accused are absconding, the police have started a search operation.
Earlier, on July 12, a case of sexual harassment was reported with a student at Fakir Mohan College, Balasore, Odisha. The student got fed up with this and sprinkled kerosene on herself and set herself on fire outside the principal office. The student died during treatment on 14 July.

- The Odisha police arrested the accused HOD Sameer Kumar Sahu on 12 July. The state government suspended the principal of the college Dilip Ghosh. However, the police also arrested the principal on 14 July amid protests across the state.
- The student was burnt more than 95 percent. He died late on July 14 during treatment at Bhubaneswar AIIMS.
