On Tuesday, there was heavy havoc in Dehradun and other areas of Uttarakhand due to cloudburst. 15 people died in rain and disaster and 16 people are still missing. 2000 tourists are trapped in Mussoorie. In Premnagar, Uttarakhand, a child was stuck amidst the strong currents of the Swarna River, which was rescued by NDRF.
On the other hand, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir said that if the weather is correct then the journey can start from Wednesday. The journey of Mata Vaishno Devi is being postponed due to the ladslide near the Ardakunwari temple on the journey route on 26 August. The journey was to begin two days ago but this could not happen due to rain.
IMD has issued an alert for heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. There is a yellow alert in other states as well. The monsoon is active in the eastern and north-eastern parts of the country, but the return of monsoon has started from Rajasthan, Gujarat and Punjab.
