Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday reviewed the damage caused by cloudburst, heavy rains and landslides in Uttarakhand and reviewed the situation in the affected areas. PM Modi announced a relief package of Rs 1200 crore to the state.
The collectorate building collapsed in Adilabad, Telangana on Thursday due to heavy rains. The accident took place in Adilabad Two Town police station area. There were no casualties due to the empty of the building being empty.
Tharad-Wav and Suigam taluka of Banaskantha district in Gujarat have received more than 16 inches of rain in the last three days. Now the rain has stopped, but the villages are still full of water. Dozens of villages of Suigam and Vav Taluka have been filled with water from 4 to 5 feet. This drone video is from Bhakri village of Vav, in which the devastation caused by rain can be clearly seen.
The Meteorological Department on Friday issued rain alert in 28 states and union territories. Out of these, Orange has been issued in 6 states including Maharashtra-Meghalaya and Yellow alert in 22 states. However, no state has a red alert.
