The Supreme Court on Friday sent a notice to the Central Government and the Election Commission on a petition related to increasing corruption and money laundering in political parties. The court has sought answers to making strict rules on the functioning of political parties.

Advocate Ashwini Upadhyay had filed a petition demanding the court to take action and make rules on increasing corruption, casteism, communalism, criminalization and money laundering at the parties.

The petition claimed that recently a political party was caught which white money with 20% commission. The parties take money from criminals and smugglers and appoint them to different positions. Many separatists are also taking donations by forming a party.

A bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Joy Mallya Bagchi has given 4 weeks to the Central Government and the Election Commission to respond.

Criminal case against 47% of the country’s ministers

302 ministers (about 47%) across the country have accepted themselves of a criminal case. Among them, there are 174 ministers who have serious allegations like murder, kidnapping and crime against women.

At the same time, 29 (40%) out of 72 ministers of the central government have accepted the criminal case. This information has been revealed in the report of Election Reform Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR).

ADR analyzed affidavits (affidavits) of a total of 643 ministers of 27 states, 3 union territories and central government.

The ADR also said that the affidavits on which the report has been prepared had entered during the elections between 2020 and 2025. The condition of these cases can also change. Read full news …

Some major Status of leaders of parties BJP Out of 336 ministers, 136 (40%) are criminal cases, while 88 (26%) are serious allegations. Congress Out of 61 ministers, 45 (74%) are cases, 18 (30%) are serious allegations. DMK Out of 31, 27 (87%) ministers are accused, 14 (45%) have serious cases. TMC There are cases at 13 (33%) out of 40, 8 (20%) have serious allegations. Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Out of 23, 22 (96%) ministers are accused, 13 (57%) have serious cases. Aam Aadmi Party 11 out of 16 (69%) ministers are accused, 5 (31%) are serious allegations.

Criminal cases against 143 women MPs and MLAs of the country

The ADR had released a report on women MPs and MLAs some time ago. It was revealed that criminal cases have been registered on 28% of the total 512 women MPs and MLAs of the country i.e. 143. Of these, 78 (15%) are serious allegations like murder, kidnapping. At the same time, 17 women leaders have claimed to have billionaires (100 crore or more assets) in their electoral affidavits.
