According to The Hindu report, Arjun Kumar, chairman of the Love-Kush Ramlila Committee, said that Mandodari’s role will be given to someone else in view of the opposition of Hindu society. He informed that Poonam Pandey has been informed about this.

BJP and VHP Welcomed the verdict
This decision of Luv-Kush Ramlila Committee has been welcomed by the BJP. Delhi BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that when Poonam Pandey was announced to become Mandodari, there was resentment among saints and social workers.
He further said, “The committee has respected the sentiments of the religious community and common people by removing Poonam Pandey from the role of Mandodari.”
At the same time, Surendra Gupta, secretary of the Delhi unit of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, also appreciated the committee’s move. He wrote in his letter that the organization is not against any artist, but this step is necessary to maintain the cultural sanctity of such public events.
