JD (S) leader Prajwal Revanna was allotted prisoner number 15528 on Sunday morning after being sentenced to life imprisonment on Saturday in the case of rape. Former Prime Minister and grandson of JDS supremo HD Deve Gowda, Revanna spent his first night in jail.
Crying in front of medical staff Jail officials said that after the sentence was pronounced, Revanna’s medical checkup was done in the evening. During this time he kept crying in front of the medical staff. However, during this time he did not talk to anyone. He was brought to jail after medical checkup, where he was kept under tight security.
Sentenced to life imprisonment in rape case The Special Court of Bangalore on Saturday sentenced former JDS MP and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s grandson Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment in the rape case from the maid. Special Court judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat also imposed a fine of Rs 11.50 lakh on Revanna. Out of this, 11.25 lakh rupees will be given to the victim.
The court convicted Revanna on Friday. Revanna, while appealing to the court, had claimed that he had done nothing wrong.
A 47 -year -old woman working in a farmhouse lodged an FIR
In fact, a 47 -year -old woman working in Revanna’s family farmhouse lodged an FIR against Revanna in April last year. In this, Rarevanna was accused of raping several times from 2021 and threatening to leak the video when he told anyone about the incident.
The court completed the hearing of the case on 18 July. Charges were framed against Revanna under several sections including rape, tight-tanning, criminal intimidation and leakage of pornographic photographs. A total of 4 cases of rape have been registered against him. This is the first case in which he is convicted.
The charge of sexual harassment of many women on Prajwal came into the limelight last year after Prajwal Revanna’s name surfaced in the Karnataka sex scandal. He is accused of sexual harassment of more than 50 women. So far 4 FIRs have been lodged against him against allegations of rape, molestation, blackmailing and threatening.
More than 2 thousand video clips of Revanna were revealed last year, more than 2,000 porn video clips were revealed on Revanna’s social media. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Revanna contested the Hassan parliamentary seat of Karnataka for the second time, but could not save his fans. After the cases registered against him, JDS also suspended him from the party.

He was a seating MP from Hasan seat in Karnataka. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections were also contesting from here. Hassan Lok Sabha seat was held on 26 April.
Meanwhile, he was surrounded by allegations of sexual harassment. The next day of the election, on 27 April, he left the country and moved to Germany. Then 35 days later reached India from Germany on 31 May, the police arrested him from Bangalore Airport itself.
On 27 May, Prajwal released the video. Prajwal Revanna, accused of sex scandal in Karnataka, released the video on May 27, 2024 and said- ‘I will appear before SIT on 31 May, 2024. All the allegations against me are false. I trust the court and believe that I will come out of false cases through the court.
Dada Deve Gowda warned to return to India. The video of Prajwal returning to India came 3 days after the warning of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and his grandfather on 23 May. Deve Gowda had said that the blessed should return to India and face the investigation. There will be no interference on behalf of our family in the investigation of this case.
Deve Gowda had said that I am not requesting the blessing, but warning. If they do not accept this warning, then they will have to face the anger of me and the whole family. The law will see the allegations against him, but if he does not listen to me, we will leave him alone.
Prajwal said- I apologize to my parents, grandfather, Prajwal said in a video sent to Kannada TV channel, ‘I first apologize to my parents, my grandfather, Kumaraswamy and my party workers and people of the state.
