On this occasion, the Governor said that the Prime Minister had visited Punjab yesterday and announced a token amount of Rs 1600 crore. The remaining amount will be paid after the assessment by different agencies. He said that Punjab will get 100% compensation, the Prime Minister has ensured that there is no shortage.
The Governor also stated that the Prime Minister was worried about the health of the Chief Minister. He asked the situation two or three times and said that as soon as he got off the helicopter, tell me about his health. Now the Chief Minister’s health is better and he has been advised to rest for a few days.
The governor shared 4 things in a conversation with the media
- The Prime Minister asked about the health of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann two or three times in briefing yesterday and said that he should come back and meet him and inform him about his health. The governor said that the meeting showed improvement in CM’s health and advised him to stay a day or two.
- The Prime Minister has given positive response to Punjab. He has given Rs 1600 crore as token money and the remaining 100% help will be given after assessment. The PM noticed that there was more loss in Punjab than Himachal, especially four-five districts. Some damage was also caused by the Ghaggar River.
- Center agencies are assessing losses. It tested the loss of crops, animals and houses based on DC and other reports. The governor said that the Prime Minister has assured that there will be no shortage and the rest of the amount will come later in addition to token money.
- Whatever agencies were engaged in rescue work, the Prime Minister has said that all necessary means will be provided in future, so that every situation can be easily faced.

Haryana CM Naib Saini met on 8 September. On the same day, CM held a cabinet meeting from the hospital itself.
