Before the session starting from 26

Announcing the assistance of 1600 crores, the Hon’ble Prime Minister clearly stated that as a total amount from 2010 to 2025, the state government has about 12 thousand crores available under SDRF. In contrast, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema claimed that only 1582 crores were received, out of which 649 crore have been spent during the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party government.

He has also cited a news. He said that such discrepancies cannot be ignored. The Punjab Legislative Assembly is going to have a special session on flood relief and rehabilitation from 26 to 29 September 2025. In such a situation, clarity on the actual state of SDRF is not only desirable, but also mandatory.

The state’s ability to overcome the suffering of millions of flood affected citizens depends on these resources. Therefore, I urge you to present a complete and verified details of the period from 2021–22, which will be clear that each year the amount received in the SDRF under the Center and State Stage, as well as the interest earned on the remaining balance. At the same time, there should be expenditure shown by the state government every year.

It is not a matter of politics

He wrote- This is not a matter of any party politics. This is a question related to federal honesty, fiscal transparency and the right to know the truth of every Punjabi. At the time of such unprecedented crisis, our people are entitled to how the funds prescribed for their welfare are being managed. The whole truth of this should be told to them. I am confident that you will intervene and make sure that the truth is placed in front of the Punjab Legislative Assembly and the people of Punjab without any delay.
