The Meteorological Department has issued alert for heavy rains in Mansa, Sangrur and Barnala districts. There is a possibility of light rain in the surrounding areas, which may increase the difficult tasks.

- Flood impact in 23 districts: A total of 23 districts from Amritsar to Tarn Taran have been affected by floods. These include Barnala, Bathinda, Faridkot, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Malerkotla, Mansa, Moga, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Nawanshahar, Mohali, Sangrur and Muktar.
- 1655 villages submerged: 1655 villages of the state have been hit by floods. 390 of Amritsar, 324 of Gurdaspur, 37 of Barnala, 13 of Bathinda, 111 of Ferozepur, 121 of Hoshiarpur, 178 of Kapurthala, 216 in Ludhiana and 114 villages of Mansa are affected the most. Apart from this, 29 villages in Patiala, 3 in Rupnagar and 70 in Tarn Taran are surrounded in water.
- More than 3.55 lakh population affected: More than 3,55,709 people have been affected so far. The most impact has been seen in Amritsar (1,75,734), Gurdaspur (1,45,006) and Fazilka (21,526). Apart from this, thousands of people are also in crisis in Ferozepur, Kapurthala, Moga, Sangrur and Mohali.
- 37 people died so far: So far, 37 people have lost their lives in 12 districts. These include Amritsar (4), Barnala (5), Bathinda (3), Hoshiarpur (7), Jalandhar (9), Kapurthala (3), Pathankot (5) and Sangrur (1). 3 people are missing from Pathankot district. At the same time, the exact figure of livestock loss has not been revealed yet, but a large number of animals have been in the grip of floods.
- 19,474 people evacuated: A total of 19,474 people have been evacuated at safe places. These include 2734 from Amritsar, 389 from Barnala, 290 from Bathinda, 3451 from Hoshiarpur, 5615 from Kapurthala, 1428 from Jalandhar, 195 from Moga, 615 from Rupnagar, 1139 from Pathankot and 1234 from Tarn Taran.
- 167 relief camps active: There are 167 relief camps active across the state, including Amritsar, Barnala, Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, Mohali, Pathankot, Patiala, Rupnagar, Sangrur and SAS Nagar. 1557 people are living in these camps. 381 people in Amritsar, 390 in Barnala, 796 in Faridkot, 57 in Kapurthala, 15 in Mansa, 3 in Moga, 10 in Tarn Taran and 47 in Pathankot. The government has said that the actual assessment of the damage will be possible only after watering, but so far loss of life, livestock and houses has suffered heavy damage.
- 1,75,286 hectares of crop affected due to floods: So far 1,75,286 hectares of crop has been affected due to floods in Punjab. The maximum loss has been in Mansa (26,027 hectares), Ferozepur (17,786 hectares), Gurdaspur (14,071 hectares), Jalandhar (10,311 hectares) and Ludhiana (8,230 hectares) districts.
Relief and Rescue operations …
- NDRF: A total of 22 teams are deployed in the state. These include Pathankot (3 teams), Amritsar (4), Ferozepur (3), Fatehgarh Sahib (2), Bathinda (3), Kapurthala (2) and Rupnagar (5 teams).
- Air Force, Navy and Army: Teams are active in Pathankot (2), Gurdaspur (2), Jalandhar (2) and Kapurthala (1). Apart from this, a column of the army has been sent in Tarn Taran. 30-35 helicopters and aircraft are engaged in relief and rescue operations by the Air Force and Navy.
- Other Central Forces: 85 BSF teams are engaged in rescue operations at the ground level.
- State force: 137 boats have been deployed, including 2 boats in Kapurthala. Also, the helicopter of the state has also been engaged in relief work.

Status of dams in Punjab …
- Pong Dam: The water level of Pong Dam was recorded at 1394.51 feet at 6 am on Thursday. The dam is getting 1,32,595 cusecs of water, while 91,167 cusecs of water is being released.
- Bhakra Dam: The water level of Bhakra Dam was recorded at 1678.97 feet at 6 am. 95,435 cusecs of water is coming in the dam, while 73,459 cusecs of water is being released.
- Harike Headworks: The water level of the pond (Pond) was 687.15 feet at 6 am. The water coming from above was recorded at 3,47,548 cusecs. Of these, 4,930 cusecs of water was released in Ferozepur feeder, 11,791 cusecs in Rajasthan feeder and 150 cusecs in Makhu Canal. The remaining 3,30,677 cusecs shed the water downstream. This indicates that most of the water is flowing directly forward.
