Punjab CM Bhagwant Man has attended a cabinet meeting from Hospital.
CM Bhagwant Mann attended the Punjab government’s cabinet meeting on Monday through video conferencing from the hospital. In the meeting which lasted about 2 hours, the CM decided that farmers were compensated for Rs 20 thousand per acre for flood affected crops.

Apart from this, it was also announced to give assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the family of the person who lost his life. CM Mann called it the most compensation given by any state government.
In the video message, CM said-

I am slowly recovering. As soon as you get a holiday, I will come among you. I cannot live without people. My pain is very small in front of your pain. Your elected government is standing with you all the time.

Meeting of officers in hospital room Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said through video conferencing after the cabinet meeting, “I am hospitalized at this time. Anyone can be sick. I am a human being. My health is improving day by day. I worry about Punjabis all the time from the hospital room. I have called the Chief Secretary and DGP here and the meeting has been held here.
CM Mann took these decisions …
- Permission to remove sand/soil from the ground: Floods have filled the soil and sand rivers, which has reduced the width of many rivers. Government “Whose land, his sand” The policy is bringing. Farmers will be able to remove sand/soil from their land and can also sell it if they want. He said that the Beas river was very wide earlier, but now it became small. By 31 December, farmers will be able to pick up sand or soil. He will not have to take any kind of permit.
- Crop compensation: A compensation of 20 thousand rupees per acre will be given for wastage of the crop. This is the highest compensation given by any state government so far. Compensation checks will be given directly in the hands of farmers.
- Assistance to the families of the deceased: A assistance of Rs 4 lakh will be given to the family of every person who lost his life in the flood.
- Survey of families falling home: The families whose houses have been ruined, or swept away in water will be surveyed. The government will provide financial assistance as soon as the loss is assessed.
- Relief in debt installments: Flood affected people have been given a discount of 6 months in repaying the loan installment. They will not have to pay installments during this period. They will also be given a discount in interest.
- Animal owners will also get help: A large number of people associated with animal and fisheries have been damaged. The government will compensate for this. Also, a special vaccination campaign for animals will be conducted.
- Health and Cleanliness Campaign: Fogging machines will be installed in about 1700 villages and 300 urban areas to prevent diseases after the floods. A team of doctors will be sent by installing a clinic in every village, so that medicines and treatment are available to the people.
- School, college and power structure repair: The damage to educational institutions and power structure due to floods will be repaired on a war level.
