The Punjab government has also banned the sale and use of Coldrif syrup. In Madhya Pradesh, 10 children died due to the use of this syrup. After this, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab has taken this decision. Orders regarding this have been issued by the Health Department.

All retailers, distributors, registered medical practitioners, hospitals/healthcare institutions, etc. in Punjab shall not purchase, sell or use this product. If any stock is found in the state, its information will be sent to the Food and Drug Administration.
Found dangerous during testing in Madhya Pradesh The order states that the Drug Testing Laboratory of the Food and Drug Administration of Madhya Pradesh has issued a report on October 4, 2025. According to this report, the medicine named Coldrif Syrup has been found not to be of good quality.
Batch number SR-13 of Coldrif Syrup is manufactured by Shresan Pharmaceuticals, Kanchipuram (Tamil Nadu). It was built in May 2025 and will finish in April 2027. This syrup has been found to be adulterated with Diethylene Glycol (46.28% w/v), which is a chemical as harmful as poison and can cause serious harm to health.
