Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wading.

The Punjab government is calling a special session on July 10 to enact a law against dishonesty, but the Congress has described it as an attempt to divert it only. Party head Amarinder Singh Raja Wading asked why the government could not take action yet?

,

Wading said, “Does the government want to say that till now there was no law against disgrace?” He alleged that the government took votes on the issue of disgrace, but did not take any concrete steps. At the same time, the government says that now strong arrangements are being made to stop such cases.

Wading raised two questions on the government’s special session

Nothing three and a half years: Raja Wading has also posted a post on his social media account regarding this issue. Reacting to the AAP government’s proposal, he said that this government has been completely inactive for the last three and a half years. “There was neither intention to do justice in the case of disrespect nor ability. When it felt that the anger of the people was increasing, it started resorting to its special ways to divert attention.”

Do nothing but people votes: Who stopped the government from action? The PCC president asked who stopped the AAP government from taking action in the matter and punishing the culprits. He said that his own leader and MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, who investigated the matter deeply, has now been suspended from the party.

He told the government, “You took votes in the name of disgrace and you did nothing,” he also said that such a misleading strategy is not going to explain the people of Punjab.

The issue should not be limited to session only

On being called a special session on the issue of disgrace, senior leader of the Akali Dal Arshdeep Kaler says that every Punjabi, whoever lives anywhere, wants the culprits of disgrace to get strict punishment. There should be early justice in cases of disgrace.

But the issue has been taken advantage of by political parties. In 2016, the Akali Dal government has brought the law to the assembly on this issue. The draft was sent back to the Punjab government for suggestions and reforms from the Center, but the Congress government, which came to power on the issue of disrespect, has not been sent to the Center again.

He said that this issue should not be limited to the session. Stricter laws should be made so that no one can think of disrespecting religious texts again.
