All the people were returning to their village Manakwal after seeing Mata Naina Devi from Himachal. According to the people in the car, the pickup car was overloaded. While overtaking a vehicle, his balance suddenly deteriorated and this accident happened.
The deceased have been identified as Jarnail Singh (52), Manjit Kaur (58), Sukhman Kaur (one and a half years) and Akashdeep Singh (8). All the dying villages were residents of Manakwal. Their bodies were rushed to the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana at 2 pm. At the same time, the search operation continued till 2 pm in search of missing people.

As soon as the incident was reported, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Himanshu Jain, SSP Jyoti Yadav and MLA Manvinder Singh Gyaspura reached the civil hospital of Dahls at night. The deputy commissioner came to know the condition of the injured and inquired about the whole matter from the doctors.

It is now known that 2 people are also missing, who are being searched.
DC said that all people are residents of Manakwal and nearby villages. Hospitals and administration were alerted as soon as the incident was reported. Rescue operation continues.

SMO said- Hospitals brought 13 patients here, SMO of Dahl Civil Hospital Rajesh Garg said- a total of 13 patients came to us. 2 of them children and a woman and a man have died. These four were brought to the hospital in the dead state. 4 patients are admitted and 4 patients went home with first aid. All patients are out of danger. A patient has also been referred to a civil hospital.
