The city Kirtan has started on the Prakash Parv of Shri Guru Ramdas ji, the fourth Guru of Sikhism in Amritsar, Punjab. The city kirtan started at 10 am from Shri Akal Takht Sahib.

This city will be held on Kirtan Plaza Ghanta Ghar, Jallianwala Bagh, Ghee Mandi Chowk, Shera Wala Gate, Maha Singh Gate, Chowk Ram Bagh, Hall Gate, Hathi Gate, Lohgarh Gate, Lahori Gate, Berry Gate, Treasure Gate, Gate Hakima, Bhagata Wala Chowk, Chati Wind Gate, Sultanwind Gate and again Ghee Mandi Chowk.
Pratap Singh, secretary of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC), said that at night, the Gurdwara Shri Manji Sahib Dewan Hall will organize the raga court and the traditional Shabad Kirtan Durbar, in which the famous ragi jatha of the cult will be told to the raga based Kirtan Sangat.
On the day of Guru Parv i.e. on October 8, religious diwans will be decorated throughout the day. Also, special decorations will be done in Golden Temple, Shri Akal Takht Sahib and Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib. There will also be fireworks on the Golden Temple on this occasion.
