According to the Meteorological Center (IMD), today heavy rains have been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Nawanshahar, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Sangrur. While yellow alerts continue in other districts. Along with the rain, winds are also flowing at a speed of 40 km in the state.
The Bhakra Dam Management Pong Dam is continuously releasing water from the dams. About 39368 cusecs from Pong Dam, 40964 cusecs from Bhakra Dam and about 33734 cusecs of water have been released from Ranjit Sagar Dam (Thein Dam). Due to which the water level in Ravi, Beas and Sutlej has increased.

Administration is keeping an eye, the situation is normal
The administration has also been placed on alert mode in 13 districts adjacent to Ravi, Beas and Sutlej. There is a possibility of flooding here due to heavy rains and release of water from dams. These districts include Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Tarn Taran, Moga, Ludhiana, Ropar, Patiala and Sangrur.
Amritsar DC Sakshi Sahni has issued instructions not to cross the rivers till October 10, do not go to the edges and keep animals away from rivers. DC Himanshu Aggarwal of Jalandhar has advised everyone to be vigilant by canceling the untouchaments.
So far there are no reports of loss due to rising water level of rivers. Administrative officials of all districts have also instructed to stay away from rumors and be cautious.

What is the status of water in dams ..
- Ranjit Sagar Dam: On Sunday, about 33734 cusecs of water was released from Ranjit Sagar Dam. Due to which the water level in the dam has been reduced slightly by 1709.27 feet. Its Danger level is 1727 feet. This dam is located on the Ravi river and the water released from it flows directly into Ravi. Due to this, flood threat has started looming in Gurdaspur, Amritsar and Ferozepur districts of Punjab.
- Pong Dam: Himachal Pradesh has warned of heavy rain for 3 days from tomorrow. In such a situation, the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) has released 39368 cusecs of water from Pong Dam. Whereas the previous day was recorded out of 49146 cusecs. This will increase the water level of Beas river. In view of this, people living on the banks of Beas in Indora-Fatehpur and Punjab have been asked to be vigilant. The release of water in the Beas river causes damage to Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur and Fazilka districts of Punjab. Its Danger level 1390 feet.
- Bhakra Dam: 40964 cusecs of water is being released from Bhakra Dam on Saturday. Flood gate 2 feet was opened for this on the previous day. The water level of the dam was recorded at 1671.49 feet. Its Danger level is 1680 feet. Bhakra water will increase water in Sutlej. This affects Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Tarn Taran, Moga, Ludhiana, Ropar, Patiala and Sangrur. However, when more than 50,000 cusecs of water is released from Bhakra Dam, the risk of flood is high.
