In Punjab today, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Manjinder Singh will be sentenced to Tarn Taran’s court. On September 10, the court convicted the woman 12 years ago on charges of assaulting and molesting him, after which he was arrested and sent to jail.

The court has also convicted 5 policemen Davinder Kumar, Saraj Singh, Ashwani Kumar, Tarsem Singh and Harjinder Singh, besides taxi driver Manjinder Singh Lalpura at the time of the incident. However, the court has not sent Gagandeep Singh and policemen Narinderjit Singh and Gurdeep Raj to judicial custody. All three have also been summoned by the court today.

I could not send my son to school for two months, because the accused used to threaten me to kill me on the way. They used to pressurize me to withdraw the case. I demand from the court that they should be punished harshly. He has ruined 13 years of my life.
One accused dies, one already jailed in jail Giving information on this entire matter, the girl’s lawyer Amit Dhawan said that a case of sections 323, 324 and 354 of the SC/ST Act was registered in this case. On Wednesday, the court convicted a total of 12 people. 7 people including the MLA have been arrested. One accused has died, while one accused is already lodged in Tihar Jail. 3 accused have not been arrested at the moment.
There was a dispute with SSP 2 years ago In the year 2023, MLA Manjinder Lalpura had a dispute with the then SSP Gurmeet Singh Chauhan. The MLA had alleged that the SSPs had met the thieves and had disturbed the action taken on mining. Lalpura had said that the SSP sent his policemen at night and misbehaved with their relatives. He had warned that this action would be responded to.
