Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday criticized three bills related to the removal of the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers or Ministers from the post on arrest in a serious case. He said that the country was being pushed back to the country in the medieval period, when the king used to arrest anyone, which he did not like.
Rahul was speaking at the honor of Vice Presidential candidate B Sudarshan Reddy in the Central Hall of the Constitution House (Old Parliament). He said, ‘No concept of the elected representative is left now. If they do not like your face, then they made a case with ED, in 30 days the person chosen in a democratic manner.
Rahul said, ‘Why are the former Vice President of India (Jagdeep Dhankhar) hidden? Why did it come to such a situation that he cannot come out and speak a word? Those who spoke vigorously in the Rajya Sabha became silent. He disappeared after resigning. There is a big story behind it. Why are they hidden? Think we are in a period where the former Vice President cannot speak a word.
