About half of the country is getting monsoon rains, floods or landslides. All the small and big rivers including Ganga, Yamuna are in spate. In Delhi-NCR, Yamuna water has started reaching from roads to homes. Water has also entered the relief camps to avoid floods.
There is floods in all 23 districts of Punjab. School-colleges have been closed since 27 September. Dausa in Rajasthan received so much rain that the Banganga river was flooded for 15 years. The temples along the ghat have been submerged due to the rise in the water level of the Shipra river in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
There are flood conditions in Akhnoor, Rajouri, Poonch and other districts of Jammu and Kashmir. There is also alert in Srinagar. The Kashmir Valley is cut off from the rest of the country, as the road was washed away from the landslide on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Thursday. Landslide also took place in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh.
