The Punjab and Haryana High Court has suspended their sentence in two murder cases. About 19 years ago, a young man was killed in a struggle between supporters and Arya Samajis at Karauntha Ashram in Rohtak. On 14 July 2014, there was a hearing in the Rohtak court. The hearing was to be held through video conferencing from Hisar court. On this day Rampal’s supporters made a nuisance in the Hisar court premises. He surrounded the court premises, broke a glass and assaulted the lawyers.
The District Bar Association went on strike and filed a contempt petition of the court in the High Court. Rampal did not appear in court 2 times. Non -bailable warrants were issued against him on 10 and 17 November 2014. On November 17, the High Court gave time till 20 November in the absence of arrest. In response to the police action on 18 November, Rampal’s commandos fired petrol bombs and opened fire. The police registered several cases including treason. Rampal has been in jail since November 2014. Recently, the High Court stayed the sentence of life imprisonment.

- Travel to become Baba from government job: Baba Rampal was born in Dhanana, a small village in Sonepat district of Haryana. After completing his studies, Baba Rampal got a job of junior engineer in the irrigation department in the Haryana government.

Disputes in the life of Baba Rampal began in the year 2006, when he made a comment on a book written by Swami Dayanand. After this Aryasamaj stood against Baba Rampal.
- A person died in struggle, case of murder registered: There was a conflict between Aryasamaj and Baba’s followers, in which one person died. After this incident, Rampal was booked for murder. The police took the ashram in its possession. Rampal and his 24 supporters were arrested. Baba came out of jail in 2008 and in 2009 Baba Rampal returned to the ashram.

The court dismissed the petition. After this, on 12 May 2013, there was a clash between angry Arya’s people and Rampal’s supporters once again. Three people died in this clash. About 100 people were injured. In 2014, an arrest was ordered for contempt against Rampal for not appearing in court.
Baba Rampal faced many allegations The police attacked the Satlok Ashram, where his followers resisted to stop his arrest. Many people were injured in this siege and six people died in this siege lasted for a week. Subsequently, Rampal was arrested and taken to Chandigarh where he was prosecuted. Baba Rampal faced several allegations, including murder, keeping illegal weapons, and rioting.

Baba Rampal is in jail since 2014 After Rampal’s arrest, he was produced in court and a legal battle continued for several years. In 2018, Hisar court convicted him and sentenced him to life imprisonment. Currently, Baba Rampal is in jail, but his number of followers is still enough, who follow his teachings and consider him innocent.
