Mumbai Crime Branch has revealed that D Company had sent three threatening messages to Indian cricketer Rinku Singh between February and April 2025, demanding a ransom of ₹5 crore. Interpol had earlier helped Zeeshan Siddiqui arrest accused Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveed from Trinidad and Tobago in the case of threatening to extort ₹10 crore after the murder of his father Baba Siddiqui. These messages were sent targeting Rinku’s campaign team, while Zeeshan had received threatening emails between April 19-21, demanding ransom and warning of consequences.
Aligarh Police said- If the family wants, they will provide security. There is an atmosphere of panic in Rinku Singh’s family after receiving the threat. Family members are not picking up anyone’s calls. Rinku’s family is in Aligarh. Aligarh’s SP City Mrigank Shekhar Pathak said – Aligarh Police has no information yet about the cricketer receiving threats. Nor have we received any information from the family. If the family gives a written complaint, security arrangements will be made by the police.
What was written in the ransom mail According to media reports, Navid first demanded Rs 5 crore from international cricketer Rinku Singh through a message sent at 7:57 am on February 5, 2025. The message read:
“Hope you are well. I am your biggest fan and I am very happy that you are playing for the KKR team. Rinku sir, I hope you continue your tireless efforts. One day you will reach the peak of your career. Sir, I have a request, if you can help me financially, Allah will bless you more, Inshallah.”
After not getting any reply, Naveed sent another message on April 9, 2025 at 11:56 pm.
“I want Rs 5 crore. I will arrange the time and place. Please send your confirmation.”
Still, when no response was received, Naveed sent a third message in English at 7:41 am on April 20, 2025, which simply read
“Reminder! D-Company”
