Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Geetanjali J Angamo has moved the Supreme Court demanding the release of her husband. Gitanjali J Angamo denied Wangchuk’s allegations of being in touch with the Pakistani intelligence officer.

Wangchuk is currently in Jodhpur jail, he was arrested on 26 September under the National Security Act (NSA) for inciting Leh violence. 4 people were killed in violence.
Apart from Sonam, 26 of the 56 agitators lodged in the local jail of Leh were released on 2 October. There were no serious streams on these. 30 people are still in jail.
Here, Stanzin Dorje, an active member of the movement led by Wangchuk, committed suicide in the house on the morning of 1 October. He is said to be fans and associates of Wangchuk.

Gitanjali Angamo wrote a letter to President Draupadi Murmu on Wednesday. He appealed that the President should understand the feelings of the people of Ladakh as a tribal. Angamo has also sent this letter to PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. In the letter, Angamo has demanded unconditional release of Sonam Wangchuk. He has described Sonam as a peaceful Gandhian protestor who agitated for climate change and development of backward tribal areas.
September 28: Allegations of being associated with Pakistan
Gitanjali has denied allegations of husband being associated with Pakistan. He told the news agency PTI on Sunday that Wangchuk has always performed in a Gandhian manner and CRPF is responsible for the September 24 violence.
