The Supreme-court sought a reply from the Himachal government on the book wood in Pushpa-style.
The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday expressed concern over flood -like situation in Punjab, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir including Himachal. Hearing a petition, a bench of CJI BR Gawai said that prima facie it seems that the trees have been illegally harvested.

The court said that it was shown in the media how wood flowed. This is a serious subject. SC has also issued notice to Punjab, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir including Himachal and sought reply within three weeks. Now the state government will have to answer this at the next hearing.

After this, the Forest Department in a hurry set up investigation. But the investigation was given a clean chit. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Sanjay Sood said that no irregularities of any kind were found in the investigation. He said that these were the girls who broke due to flash flood and reached Pandoh Dam.

4 places were clouded
On June 24, there was a cloudburst in Kullu district at 4 places, after which hundreds of tons of wood came from the Gadsa Valley after heavy rains in high areas, which reached Pandoh Dam on the Beas river. After seeing these wood, the forest department was badly surrounded on social media and questions are being raised on the functioning of the department. The social media user added it to Pushpa style.
After this, a large number of wood was seen flowing in the floods in Chamba and Kullu.
45 incidents of cloudburst
Heavy floods, cloudburst and landslide are causing heavy losses in the state. The state has caused heavy losses due to 127 incidents of large landslide, 95 floods and 45 cloudburst. Floods, cloudbursts and landslides have killed 50 people, while 43 people are missing. Private and government property worth Rs 3690 crore has been destroyed in the state.
