An official of Rajasthan’s Food Safety Drug Controller Department changed the definition of act to save companies caught making fake medicines.
In the last 3 years, he reshuffled the data of fake medicines and sent them to the Lok Sabha and NITI Aayog. Not only this, there was a preparation to send the same wrong figures in the assembly.
But before that the departmental investigation has revealed the entire case. It is believed that this entire game was composed to benefit 14-15 pharmacy companies.

Government or private, fake and sub -standard (non -standard) drugs make the Food Safety and Drug Controller Department to tighten the screws.
This department examines from time to time by taking samples of medicines. In case of disturbances, action is taken as per the Drug and Cosmetic Act, 1940. Under this, there is a provision for punishment from one or two years to life imprisonment.
This act also states which medicine will come under the purview of fake medicine. But Drug Controller (Second) Rajaram Sharma changed the definition of an act made on fake medicines. He manipulated the data of fake medicines based on his definition.
Rajaram Sharma is accused of saving fake drug -making companies.
What is the whole matter?
In the investigation of Bhaskar, it was revealed that the Lok Sabha had sought information from DGCA (Drug Controller General of India) regarding fake medicines caught in Rajasthan in March this year.
On which the Food Safety and Drug Department of the state got DGCA 1 January 2022 to 31 December 2024 till 55 drugs Sent information as fake.
A few months later, in June 2025, NITI Aayog sought information about the fake medicines caught in Rajasthan. Drug department for NITI Aayog 1 January 2022 to June 2025 Sent information of 60 fake medicines.
But in our investigation, it was revealed that the figures sent to NITI Aayog in the notesheet (PUC-4-C) were just 39 in the figure of fake medicines.
At the same time, this information was sought for the answer to a question in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, but suddenly the figure decreased. This data only in this time period 44 Has left
The officer had made complete preparations to send a wrong answer while trying to mislead the assembly as well. But then after investigation in the department, the reply was stopped before sending it.

The drug controller held a meeting on 19 September to present the answers to the questions from the assembly. The meeting included Drug Controller I Ajay Phatak, Drug Controller (Second) Rajaram Sharma, Deputy Director Drug Testing Laboratory Girish Kumar, Junior Legal Officer Ajita Kalra.
The officials present at the meeting found in their investigation that Drug Controller (Second) Rajaram Sharma had commented on the e-file number spurious drug list for CSS-09302-7677196 {Para 4/N} giving his definition in many places.
Actually, the Drug and Cosmetic Act, 1940 remains in the state with fake medicines. It is clear that any medicine is shown 3-4 or all the salt (chemicals), if not one of them is found in the investigation, then that medicine will be considered fake.
But Rajaram Sharma removed many of them by commenting in front of fake medicines. A new definition was written in it-
Due to this misinterpretation, the figure of fake drugs decreased, which was to be sent to the assembly as an answer. Sharma sent this note to the Assistant Drug Controller Headquarters (Additional Drug Controller). Instructed to convert it into an official notesheet to be sent to the assembly.

According to the report- On the instructions of Drug Controller (Second) Rajaram Sharma, the Assistant Drug Controller changed all the data of the notesheet. Using this definition, wrong figures were sent to NITI Aayog.
At the time when the meeting was going on, Rajaram Sharma, accused in this case, was present there. However, Rajaram Sharma refused to sign the data notesheet and refused to take responsibility for it.
Many companies rescued, officials said- action under consideration
Department officials believe that Rajaram Sharma had created this entire game only to benefit pharma companies. In this way he tried to protect around 14-15 companies from action. According to the Act, all those companies made a provision for punishment for life imprisonment against them.
