- Photo of suicide surfaced in the morning: A photo has surfaced 5 days after the suicide of IPS Puran Kumar. Puran Kumar’s dead body is lying on the sofa in the sound proof room in the basement of Kothi No. 116, Sector 11, Chandigarh. Blood is coming out from his head, nose and mouth. The T-shirt is also stained with blood. Puran Kumar is holding a pistol in his right hand. He is also covered with a blanket.
- Section of SC/ST Act strengthened: Chandigarh Police has strengthened the section of SC/ST Act in the case. Section 3 (1) (r) of the SC/ST Act has now been replaced by Section 3 (2) (V), which provides for life imprisonment along with fine. Whereas, in Section 3(1) (r) of the SC/ST Act, there is a provision for fine along with imprisonment up to 5 years.
- SIT called for Rohtak SP’s report of: Chandigarh Police formed SIT to investigate the IPS suicide case. SIT has sought the FIR lodged by Rohtak Police before the IPS suicide case. The reason given for seeking this FIR is why it was needed. SIT investigation is going on in this matter.
- Big faces coming to IAS house Ongoing: Big faces continue to visit the house of IPS Y Puran Kumar’s IAS wife. On Sunday, leaders of Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, JJP met Amneet P Kumar. MLA Ashok Arora from Congress, Ajay Chautala from Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala reached the IAS house in the morning. In the evening, Haryana Governor Asim Ghosh along with his wife reached the IPS’s house to express his condolences.
