People of Kudmi community are demonstrating on Saturday i.e. 20 September in Jharkhand. The Rail Teka movement is being launched to demand the inclusion of the Scheduled Tribes (ST).

The protesters have landed on the railway track with Dhol-Mandar in traditional dress since morning. In Giridih, Chakradharpur, Jamtara, Bokaro, the protesters sat on the railway track and stopped the trains. In view of the protest, Section 144 has been imposed at 4 railway stations in Ranchi.

Kudmi Samaj plans to stop trains at 100 stations in Jharkhand-Bengal and Odisha. There are 40 railway stations of Jharkhand among them.

The protesters have also landed on tracks like Muri, Tatsilve, Mesra, adjacent to the capital Ranchi in Jharkhand. In view of the agitation, 500 RPF personnel have been deployed at Muri station.

Many parties including AJSU have supported this movement. Kudmi leader Omprakash Mahato said that ‘We will not affect any road. Our fight is with the central government. Therefore the rail route will be disrupted.
