A case of gang rape has come to light from a tribal woman in Angul district of Odisha. The incident took place on Sunday (August 4) near the dense forest in Chhandipada police station area. On the complaint of the victim, the police on Wednesday arrested the three accused, including two minors.
Police said that tractors used in crime, two mobile phones and clothes worn at the scene have also been recovered from the accused. Two of the arrested accused are two minors. A case has been registered against all in related sections. Police said that the case is being investigated rapidly and the victim is being given all possible help.
On August 5, the woman lodged a complaint at Chhandipada police station. The police arrested the three accused on 6 August.
Woman bid- 3 youths came from tractor, forcibly kidnapped
The woman said that on August 4, she went to the hospital with her nephew. While returning around 3 pm, he stayed at a petrol pump. After filling petrol and eating food, the woman went to the nearby forest for defecation.
Meanwhile, three youths arrived in a tractor and forcibly kidnapped the woman and took them to a deserted area, where the three gang -raped her together. The accused escaped after executing the incident. The woman somehow reached home and told the family the whole thing.
July 12- Student committed suicide, accused arrested
The student was troubled by sexual harassment, she had set herself on fire when no hearing.
- The student was a second year student in Integrated Bed course at Fakir Mohan College in Balasore district. On July 12, he had set fire to the college campus by spraying kerosene on the college campus, upset by the Sexual Harassment of the Head of Department (HOD).
- She had gone to the principal before the incident, but the principal asked her to withdraw her complaint. After this he committed self -immolation. The student was first admitted to Balasore District Hospital. From there, doctors referred AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
- The Odisha police arrested the accused HOD Sameer Kumar Sahu on 12 July. The state government suspended the principal of the college Dilip Ghosh. However, the police also arrested the principal on 14 July amid protests across the state.
- The student was burnt more than 95 percent. He died late on July 14 during treatment at Bhubaneswar AIIMS.
