The general public is also opposing India Pakistan match on social media
The Asia Cup 2025 match between India and Pakistan is continuously opposing. This is the first time between the two countries after the Pahalgam attack and operation vermilion.
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and other leaders are demanding the cancellation of the match. On various social media platforms, the general public is also writing it against the match.
A petition seeking cancellation of the match was also filed in the Supreme Court, which the court refused to hear.
In the Asia Cup 2025, India will play a match between Pakistan in Dubai on 14 September 2025. The match will start from IST at 8:00 pm. Both these teams are the second match in the tournament.
BCCI has said that they are following the government’s policy, which allows to play against Pakistan in multilateral tournaments.
26 tourists died in Pahalgam attack
The demands of Boycott in India regarding the match are fast. In fact, 26 tourists were shot dead on 22 April 2025 in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir.
In response to the attack, India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ on the night of 6-7 May in which 9 terrorist bases in Pakistan were demolished. More than 100 terrorists died in this. Pakistan attacked by responding to India’s action. On May 10, a ceasefire was announced between the two countries.
Since the attack, the situation between the two countries has not become normal.
Pakistan’s team refused to come to India in the Asia Hockey Cup held after the attack
The Asia Hockey Cup 2025 (Mains) was played in Rajgir, Bihar from 29 August to 7 September, which was the qualifier of the 2026 FIH World Cup. Pakistan refused to come to India citing security from the tournament.
Apart from this, Indian cricketers also refused to play with Pakistan in the World Champions of Legends held in England.
Political parties are constantly protesting
Many political parties such as Uddhav Thackeray are demanding the cancellation of the match. He said- Indian soldiers are sacrificing their lives on the border, while Pakistan promotes terrorism, in such a situation, playing a cricket match is a mockery of patriotism. He cited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s old statement “blood and water together” and asked “How can blood and cricket walk together?”
Thackeray protested and said that the Modi government has made patriotism a trade. Along with this, he talked about performing.
Thackeray also mentioned his father Bal Thackeray. Told that Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad had told- Cricket will not be played until Pakistan stops terrorist activities against India.
Nitish Rane, a minister in the Maharashtra government, responded to Uddhav Thackeray’s statement, saying that Aditya Thackeray himself will wear a burqa and will also raise slogans of Pakistan.
BJP leader Anurag Thakur, while favoring the government, said- When ACC or ICC multinational tournaments are organized, participating for countries becomes a compulsion, a requirement. If they do not do so, they will be excluded from the tournament.
Aam Aadmi Party performed
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest against the India-Pakistan cricket match, in which Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bhardwaj accused the central government of “insulting” the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal questioned the decision to hold the match and warned Delhi’s clubs, pubs and restaurants against showing the match.
