PM Modi visited Britain in July this year.
Today is the last day of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s two-day visit to India. He will meet PM Modi today at around 10 am and talk about early implementation of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
Issues like trade, security, technology and education will also be discussed in the bilateral talks with PM Modi. Both the leaders will emphasize on strengthening India-UK relations under ‘Vision 2030’.
Modi and Starmer will then go to Jio World Centre. Will participate in Global Fintech Fest 2025 here. This is the world’s largest fintech event.
Fintech companies, policy makers, bankers and innovators will meet in this event. Starmer and Modi will talk about digital payments, technology and the future of trade.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer watched the film with Bollywood actress Rani Mukherjee and CEO Akshay Vidhini at Yash Raj Studios on Wednesday.
Starmer also took stock of the technical functioning of Yash Raj Studio.
Starmer took part in the English Premier League football showcase event with famous footballer Michael Owen. Both of them played football with the children and talked to them.
Starmer spoke to British Deputy High Commissioner Harjinder Kang and British High Commissioner to India Lindy Cameron in front of the Gateway of India.
Starmer attended a special function in Mumbai, which was organized to enhance friendship between India and Britain.
4 important issues in Modi-Starmer meeting…
- Trade and Investment: Both the countries have recently signed a major trade agreement (CETA). This will be discussed so that trade can be further expanded, leading to increase in shops, business and jobs.
- Technology and Innovation: Both countries will work together in areas like Fintech (digital money transactions), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Computing (new type of superfast computers) and Cyber Security (online security).
- Defense and Security: There will be talks to stop terrorism, keep an eye on Khalistani activities and catch economic criminals.
- Climate, energy, health, education and mutual relations: Both the countries will also focus on saving the environment, clean energy, better health services, education and increasing friendship between people.
India-UK signed FTA in July
India-Britain had signed the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) in July this year. The objective of this agreement is to double mutual trade to 120 billion dollars by 2030.
FTA will make it easier to sell Indian products like clothes, leather and agri products in Britain. Starmer’s visit is considered important towards furthering the commercial relations between the two countries.
Will talk on investment and technology in Bengaluru
After Mumbai, Keir Starmer will go to Bengaluru. Bengaluru is the technology hub of India, where he will talk about investment and technology.
Their aim is to accelerate the India-UK Technology Security Initiative (TSI). This includes sectors like AI, quantum computing and biotech. After FTA, there will be special emphasis on increasing investment.
- Technology Security Initiative (TSI): India and Britain have recently started a program named TSI. In this, there will be collaboration in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, biotechnology and semiconductor. Starmer will meet tech companies and startup owners in Bengaluru and plan to accelerate this program.
- Plan to increase investment: Starmer will encourage British companies to invest more money in India, especially in the technology and manufacturing sectors. This will create new jobs in India and benefit the economy.
- Support to startups: Starmer will talk to startups in Bengaluru. He will inspire them to start businesses in Britain and explore new opportunities for cooperation.
