The impact of violence and nuisance in Nepal for two days has engulfed the districts adjoining UP. Till late Tuesday evening, there was arson and sabotage on the other side of the entry points of the border adjoining UP.

The most violence took place in Dhangarhi city adjacent to Lakhimpur Kheri. SSB and police personnel were cautious to protect the 600 km border of Nepal adjoining UP. Patrolling continued overnight.
On the Bahraich-Nepal border, a tire was demonstrated in Nepalganj city of Banke district. Jamunha vandalized the post. When the protesters started entering the Indian border, the SSB and the police sent them back.
The border has been sealed in Lakhimpur Kheri. Violence took place in Dhangarhi city of Kalali district, just one km from the border. Here the mob set the house of six -time PM Sher Bahadur Deuba on fire.
The mob brutally beat Sher Bahadur and his wife. Violent protesters here set fire to External Affairs Minister Arju Rana Deuba’s residence, Chief Minister’s Office and many political parties offices.
In Dhangarhi, protesters attacked the jail. All the prisoners closed here have been rescued. Curfew has been implemented in Dhangarhi to control violence, while security arrangements have been tightened in Lakhimpur Kheri on the Indo-Nepal border.
Violence also occurred in Nepali district adjacent to Maharajganj. Thousands of bike riders are performing. The barricading is broken.
What is the effect of Nepal’s violence in UP?
- The number of buses going to Sonauli border in Nepal from Roadways Depot in Gorakhpur has suddenly declined by 50 per cent.
- 4 flights going to Nepal have been landing at Amausi Airport in Lucknow. Flights were going from Delhi, Dubai and Bangkok to Kathmandu.
- The flight from Abu Dhabi to Kathmandu was diverted to Varanasi. Land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi at 3.20 pm. The flight had 144 passengers.
- Indians are being forbidden to go to Nepal on the Rupaidiha border in Bahraich. SSB is doing intensive checking on check posts.
