Actor and Tamizhaga Vatri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has started to personally contact families of those killed in Karur stampede. According to India Today, Vijay has so far spoken to 4 to 5 families on video calls.

In fact, there was a stampede at actor Vijay’s rally in Karur, Tamil Nadu on 27 September. In which 41 people were killed and more than 100 were injured. The 7 PILs related to the case were listed in the Dussehra vacation bench of Justice M Dhandpani and Justice M Jotirman.

The Madurai bench of the Madras High Court on October 4 rejected the petitions seeking a CBI inquiry. At the same time, the notice was issued to the Stalin government on the petition demanding additional compensation amount. The next hearing of the case here will be held on 16 October.

Also, the Madras High Court has formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the Karur stampede. It is being led by Asra Garg, Inspector General (IG) of Tamil Nadu Police.

While hearing the case, Justice N Senthilkumar said that after the incident, TVK left the spot and did not even show any apology or regret. The whole world has seen this incident, the party cannot escape the responsibilities by closing its eyes.

If you want to take revenge, I will meet at home or in the office. My party officials have been arrested by the police. I appeal to the CM not to harm my party officials.”
